Wikis

Wiki pages were created to put information about the project in a place where all users can access it. Along the left side of each wiki page is a table of contents, which lists each wiki page, the category under which it falls, and any subpages nested inside it. Wiki categories are selected from the values of a choice field for the project, which can be specified in the Project Settings.

Open the Wiki by clicking on the Wiki icon on the project navigation bar. The wiki home page includes a list of recently updated wiki pages

 After opening a wiki page, a list of available wiki pages is displayed on the left side. The following buttons and options are available from the menu:

• Search bar — Keyword search for wiki pages that includes a word or phrase. Special characters are ignored during keyword searches.
• New Page — Opens a blank editor to create a new wiki page.
• Wiki Home icon 
• Edit — Opens the Wiki editor for the current page.
• New Child — Opens a new wiki page editor with the Parent field automatically set to the page code for the page on which the button was selected.
• History — Opens the history showing all changes made to the current page, by whom, when, and comments. Select one radial button in each of the From and To columns to compare.
• Select the Compare Selected Versions button to display a list of the changes made to the To version which were not in the From version.
• Delete — Allows you to delete the page.

To create a new Wiki page:

1. Select the New Page link. Alternatively, you can select the New Child button to create a page nested inside the current page.
2. Use the Page Title box to enter a name for the new wiki page.
3. Enter the page content.
4. Select a Category for the wiki page, if applicable. The values available under the category field are the choices for a specific project field, designated as the wiki category in the Project Settings. If no field is specified in the project settings, then this option will not be displayed.
5. Select a value for the Parent field, if the new page will be nested under an existing wiki page.
6. If you have management permissions a Lock this page so only project managers can edit it checkbox will appear. If you check the box, any user can view the page, but only a project manager can edit it.
7. Add attachments to be displayed on the page, as needed.
8. Select Submit.

Edit an Existing Wiki page:

1. Select the page you want to edit by clicking on the Edit button on that page. 
2. Make the desired changes in the Page Title, Content, and other fields.
3. Add any comments that you would like to appear in the history to the Comment field. The field allows up to 200 characters.
4. Select the Submit button when you are satisfied with your entry. The Wiki page you entered will appear with a success message displayed at the top.

Deleting a Wiki page:

Only a user with a role with project manager permissions can delete a Wiki page. 

1. To delete a page click on the Delete button on that page.
2. A dialog will open, asking if you are sure you want to delete the page. Select OK to delete the page or Cancel to close the dialog without deleting the page.
3. If you select OK, the dialog will close and you will be on the Wiki home page. The deleted Wiki page will not appear in the list of pages.
