Summer 2016 Announcements/Newsletter

The first half of this year has flown by quickly, bringing many changes with it, especially for BSI. We are constantly developing BSI to better serve your needs, both within the system and outside of it. Within BSI, we have added, and continue to develop, exciting new features to support your work. Outside of the BSI system, IMS has created a network of resources and collaborative discussion: the BSI Support site.

The BSI Support site is a separate web software providing a portal for your organization’s continued growth and success. As you may have noticed recently, the BSI user’s guide is now available on the support website, allowing rolling updates so that content and tutorials are always up-to-date. The new format of our BSI user’s guide also provides you with the unique opportunity to easily create and upload database-specific help content, workflows, and training documents, to share within your organization. Database-specific content can be uploaded and shared with your team alongside general BSI documentation.

To further benefit you, the site offers a place to upload recorded trainings for future reference and use. Video demonstrations of new features are available on the site for every release, along with features and issues available for beta testing, release notes, and system downtimes. Over the last several months, we have embedded numerous video demonstrations and screenshots within the BSI user’s guide and we will continue to add more with every release.

In the coming months we plan to continue adding to and improving the BSI Support Site to help meet your organization’s goals. Currently we are working on collecting multi-media resources and developing tutorials which outline basic process and navigation through BSI, to refresh existing users’ understanding and enable new users to learn more easily. We also plan to more actively engage with major challenges facing the biobanking industry via spotlighted news features and relevant discussions.

If you have any questions, or would like more information about the BSI Support site, feel free to contact us at bsifeedback@imsweb.com.
