Happy New Year!

This past year has brought many changes for BSI, both large and small. In 2016, IMS deployed 11 updates to BSI, each filled with enhancements and features that significantly expanded BSI’s capabilities to improve your BSI experience.

Your suggestions and comments have been the catalyst for many of the improvements, and IMS considers the impact of any change to our customers during every step of each release. BSI has grown to include the ability for studies to require an e-Signature when users complete certain actions in a workflow. We have also added the ability to track patients across multiple studies using a Universal Subject record. Filters can now be set up for code lists to display only values which are appropriate given existing field data, drastically reducing the amount of time spent search long code lists for the correct value. We have significantly expanded BSI’s tools for processing collection kits by accommodating creation and management of kits on a mass scale.

This year we also welcomed several new team members, developers and support staff, to continue our tradition of providing excellent care to BSI itself and to the customers who use it.

In 2017, we intend to continue improving every aspect of BSI. In the client application, we plan to cultivate and refine system configurations, providing you with additional capabilities to tailor the system to your workflows. Elements of the Subjects module will be added to our web interface, BSI Engage, providing expanded access while maintaining complete control over sensitive patient data. Across all BSI platforms, we will continuously strive to make improvements to both the speed and reliability of the system. In April, we will host the 2017 BSI User Conference, with the goal of promoting collaborative sharing of ideas and practices among BSI users.

Your valuable feedback has been vital to the cultivation and continued development of BSI. Please stay in touch as we move into 2017.
