The Power of Reporting, Part I

As any lab or specimen processing facility will undoubtedly agree, being able to access, output and interpret data is vital to workflow in a variety of ways. From tracking audit trails over the course of specimen life spans, to overseeing user efficiency, and organizing specimen storage, data can provide a powerful tool for understanding, maintaining and improving the way you get your work done. Furthermore, you can have access to all the data in the world, but it won’t be helpful if it’s difficult to access, and presented in a way that’s less than intuitive. It is for these reasons that BSI Systems reporting is designed to provide users with an easy-to-use reporting interface, facilitating quick and easy access to all data captured by the system, and presented in a way that’s easy to read, manipulate, and save.

In addition to over 45 predefined reports aimed at catering to popular user queries, BSI also allows users to create and execute totally custom built reports, with configuration options for output display, including output file type, sorting and search criteria. Not only does BSI provide reporting access to field data relevant to the user’s specimens, studies, subjects, etc, but also information captured by actions performed within the system, such as history, location and reservation data. BSI reporting is also designed to present this information in a way that’s most convenient for the user and compatible with the user’s workflow. By providing 5 different output types, including an interactive table which can be used to sort and organize table data, as well as perform actions on table items, BSI ensures that the data users receive is clear and compatible with existing documentation methods.
