Kit Centers

Users can make changes to an existing kit center by opening the kit center in the Kit Center editor or add a new kit using the editor.

To create a new Kit Study Collection Center:

  1. Press New on the Kit Centers manager.New Kit Study button
  2. A blank Study Collection Center editor will open with the following fields:
    • Site - Required
    • Center
    • Study ID - Required
    • Notification Threshold - Required
    • Status - Required
    • Contact ID - Required
    • Repository ID
    • Kits at site - Non-editable; system generated field.
    • Kits sent to site - Non-editable; system generated field.
    • Kits received by repository - Non-editable; system generated field.Study Collection Center dialog
  3. Fill in the required information. When finished, press the Save button on the toolbar or select Save from the File menu.

Example: Dr. Quest is studying blood samples from subjects infected with a new disease. His specimens come from several states where the illness has been spotted and are collected by doctors onsite. When the disease is spotted in a new location, he creates a kit center in BSI for the location he will receive blood samples from, then sends kits for specimen collection.


View a Kit Center

Users can view an existing kit center by opening it in the editor. Users will not be able to edit the kit center while in View mode.

To view a kit center:

  1. Select the kit center to view by clicking to highlight it in the Kit Centers manager.
  2. Press the View button on the right side of the manager. The kit center will open in the Kits Centers editor in View mode.Kit center View button
  3. When finished viewing the kit, close the Kit Center editor by pressing the X button at the top right of the editor, choosing Close from the File menu, or pressing Alt + F4.

Edit a Kit Center

To edit a kit center:

  1. Select the kit center to be edited by clicking to highlight it in the Kit Centers manager.
  2. Press the Edit button on the right side of the manager. The kit center will open in the Kit Centers editor.Kit Center Edit button
  3. Make the desired changes to the kit center. When finished, make the changes permanent by pressing the Save button on the toolbar or choosing Save from the File menu.

Delete a Kit Center

Users can delete a kit center that does not have kits currently at the study collection center.

To delete a kit center:

  1. Select the kit center to be deleted by clicking to highlight it in the Kit Centers manager.
  2. Press the Delete button on the Kit Centers manager.Delete Kit Center button
  3. A delete confirmation dialog will appear. To cancel the delete process, press No on the confirmation dialog. To continue with the deletion, press Yes on the dialog.
  4. After pressing Yes on the delete confirmation dialog, the kit center will be deleted if no kits have been sent to the study collection center. If kits have been sent to the study collection center, a dialog will appear informing the user that the kit center cannot be deleted.
