Requisition Menus and Tools

Many actions for a requisition can be selected from the File, Edit, View and Tools menus in the top left of the Requisitions Editor.  Other actions, such as those for individual tasks, are taken by selecting options from column header menus.

File Menus

The requisition editor File menu has the following options:File Menu

  • Save Requisition - This option will save the requisition on the server.  It is only available if the requisition has never been submitted.  When first selected for a new requisition, a requisition number will be assigned to the requisition, the requisition will be saved on the server, and it will be given a status of Pending.
    • When a requisition is saved only and not yet submitted, the Vial Status does not change - meaning the specimens are NOT reserved for your requisition. Specimens only become reserved upon successful submission.  Until a requisition has been successfully submitted for processing, the specimens listed will be available and can possibly be included in another requisition.
  • Submit - Available only for Pending requisitions.  This will submit the requisition for processing at the repository.
  • Import - This will open the Importer Wizard and allow users to import IDs that will be used to retrieve specimens from the database.  Once the import column is set and the wizard closes, a selection dialog will open that will determine the matching field.  All matching specimens will be added to the requisition editor.
  • Print - The requisition editor can be printed in a document as other tables in BSI.
  • Export with Translation - This will open the Export with Translation wizard.
  • Close - This will exit and close the requisition.  If the requisition has not been submitted and has been changed since the last time it was saved or has not yet been saved, a dialog will open prompting you to save.  Select Yes to save and close the requisition.  Select No to close the requisition without saving.  Select Cancel to exit the dialog without saving or closing the requisition editor.
